A strawberry galette made with cottage cheese in the dough is a beautifully rustic, open-faced tart that feels both indulgent and wholesome. The dough, enriched with cottage cheese, becomes tender, slightly tangy, and wonderfully flaky—offering a unique contrast to the juicy, sweet strawberries nestled in the center. This galette can be served as a brunch centerpiece, a light dessert, or even a sweet breakfast.
Strawberry Galette
Description
The galette balances the natural sweetness of strawberries with the mild tang and richness of the cottage cheese dough. The fruit is often lightly sweetened and possibly brightened with lemon zest, while the crust adds a gentle savoury note that rounds out the flavours beautifully. The crust is tender and slightly crumbly with a light flakiness from the cottage cheese, while the strawberries bake down to a soft, jammy filling. A golden edge gives a gentle crunch, especially if brushed with egg wash or sprinkled with sugar.
