Description

In this recipe I like to use dark brown sugar it gives an amazing deep caramelized flavour to the cake and goes so well with pears. Feel free to use regular granulated sugar; it will also be super tasty.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 C.

  2. In a bowl mix together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add an egg, one at a time, and mix for about 30 seconds each time. Then add vanilla extract and mix for about 10 seconds.

  4. Next, add flour and a pinch of salt, and mix with a spatula until well combined, but not overmix.

  5. Then spread a small piece of butter on the baking form and dust with flour.

  6. Peel, core and slice pears.

  7. Transfer the batter to the baking form and even with a spatula.

  8. Top with pears pressing them into the butter a bit.

  9. Bake for about 35-40 minutes. Check with a toothpick.

  10. Let it cool down completely and top it with icing sugar.

  11. Serve with ice cream, and custard and enjoy!
